Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to lead safety and regulatory compliance across a growing multi-site network. You will partner with Operations, Fleet, HR and site leadership to strengthen workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

You will own audits, investigations, training programs, and continuous improvement, mentoring junior staff and serving as a subject-matter expert. Travel 40–50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
• 5–7+ years in EH&S across manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, or regulated waste.
• Experience leading audits, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations; hazardous waste program experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions across multiple sites.
• Design and deliver employee safety training programs (PPE, Haz Com, DOT HazMat).
• Develop and monitor environmental compliance programs (medical waste, waste, air emissions).
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual EH&S reports for leadership and customers.
• Travel 40–50% to support audits, investigations, and training.
