Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services seeks a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to lead safety and regulatory programs across a multi-site network. You will own complex audits, investigate incidents, design training, and drive continuous improvement under the EH&S leadership team.

You will mentor junior staff, manage environmental compliance for regulated waste, and report findings to leadership. Expect travel 40–50% to support audits, training, and operations at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, or a related field (or equivalent).
• 5–7+ years of progressive EH&S experience across multiple sites.
• Proven ability to lead safety inspections, audits, and investigations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and medical waste regs; hazardous waste experience required.
• Certifications such as CSP/OSHA 30 preferred; advanced credentials a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions across sites.
• Oversee environmental programs for regulated waste, stormwater, and emissions.
• Develop and deliver employee safety training curricula and regulatory programs.
• Maintain EH&S databases, records, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
• Mentor junior staff and drive cross‑functional safety initiatives.
• Prepare for customer audits and regulatory inspections; travel 40–50%.
