Job summary

Ostara is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead the enterprise-wide EH&S program. You will establish standards, drive compliance, and partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to integrate EH&S into all facets of the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in environmental science, occupational safety, engineering, chemistry, industrial hygiene, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive EH&S experience in chemical processing, fertilizer manufacturing, or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, environmental permitting, incident investigation, contractor safety, and process safety management.
• Proven ability to lead EH&S programs across multiple facilities or corporate and site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EH&S Management System across all operations and locations, driving continuous improvement.
• Establish policies, standards, KPIs, and compliance programs; report on performance and risks.
• Serve as the functional owner for environmental, health, safety, and process safety matters.
• Develop and execute strategic EH&S initiatives aligned with operations and regulatory needs.
• Oversee audits, inspections, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and leadership to embed EH&S into daily work.
• Maintain stop-work authority when imminent danger is present; ensure timely regulatory responses.
