Job summary

The Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (OEEO) at the SEC seeks an Attorney-Adviser (EEO Attorney-Adviser) in Washington, DC. You will serve as a legal adviser on federal sector EEO law, provide authoritative counsel, manage sensitive cases, draft decisions and policies, and lead investigations.

Qualifying experience may come from private or public sectors; all qualifications must be met by the closing date.

Qualifications

• J.D. or LL.B. degree required.
• Active bar membership in good standing in any state, DC, or Puerto Rico.
• Two-plus (2+) years post-J.D. experience identifying legal issues, conducting legal research, and preparing legal documents for Federal sector EEO (SK-13).
• Three-plus (3+) years post-J.D. experience leading development and issuance of agency decisions and policies (SK-14).

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative counsel on federal sector EEO law.
• Manage sensitive, novel cases and lead investigations.
• Draft decisions, policies, and SOPs; support enterprise-wide EEO compliance and training.
• Contribute to internal/external reporting and training on Federal EEO protections.
