Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a seasoned Higher Education & State Government Area Sales Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure, covering 12 Northeast states. Lead a 4–6 person team selling large, bundled infrastructure solutions to executive buyers, driving annual sales and margins.

Strong understanding of procurement, contracting, and financial deal structures is essential. You will develop strategic plans, mentor the team, and coordinate with internal SMEs to deliver value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline required.
• 10+ years of progressive field sales experience at the C-level and 5+ years of sales management experience.
• Knowledge of Higher Education and State Government vertical markets and selling outcome-based solutions.
• Strong initiative, interpersonal communications, and ability to influence at key levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 4–6 Account Executives delivering annual sales and gross margin goals.
• Drive strategic sales approaches with C-level executives and government entities.
• Manage the sales process, maintain stakeholder relationships, and coordinate cross-functional resources.
• Negotiate value, address resistance, and support closing of large, complex deals.
• Utilize Salesforce and other sales tools to document progress and accelerate opportunities.
