This role serves as acting superintendent in the absence of the superintendent, participates on the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet, and requires a masterful command of policy, budgeting, data, and community relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education is required.
• Doctorate in School Administration or related field is preferred.
• NC Certification (Principal or Superintendent) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the school system.
• Provide leadership to departments including Student Services, Athletics, Title IX, Wellness, and CMS Police Department.
• Serve as acting superintendent in the absence of the Superintendent.
• Lead budgeting and financial planning for assigned areas.
• Engage with parents and community members and present information to public audiences.
• Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
