Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Chief Operations Officer to oversee daily district operations, leading departments such as facilities, transportation, maintenance, nutrition, and risk management. This executive reports to the Superintendent and sits on the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet.

The role requires a Bachelor's in education, Master's preferred, and NC Certification; 5+ years as a senior administrator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education is required.
• Master's degree in School Administration or related field preferred.
• NC Certification (Principal or Superintendent) preferred.
• Minimum of five years' experience as building or district administrator.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all relevant laws, policies, and procedures in operations.
• Lead, manage, supervise, and evaluate assigned departments and staff.
• Establish and implement budgeting and fiscal management systems.
• Direct development of goals, short/long-range plans, and programs.
• Advise the superintendent and board on operations matters.
• Coordinate site-based safety, facilities, transportation, and maintenance initiatives.
