Job summary

Navira Federal, LLC is recruiting an Editor (Authored Works Review) for a proposed contract supporting the Hospital Communications Department at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

You will own the review, editing and clearance of public-facing materials, protecting the accuracy and credibility of the organization's voice.This on-site, full-time role runs Monday through Friday during normal business hours (about 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional editing, copyediting or technical writing experience.
• Strong command of English grammar, punctuation and AP Style.
• Experience in healthcare communications or military public affairs.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and safeguarding PHI.
• Project management experience with editorial calendars and multi-author publications.
• Strong attention to detail and source verification.

Responsibilities

• Manage editorial lifecycle for public-facing content and leadership messaging.
• Review, edit and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and grammar.
• Fact-check medical information with subject matter experts.
• Coordinate feedback among authors, legal counsel and public affairs leadership.
• Develop and enforce the organization's style guide.
• Prepare final documents for approval by senior Public Affairs Officer.
