You will oversee editorial strategy, governance, and performance of CEN content on third-party platforms, ensuring high editorial standards and audience growth.

The role combines editorial leadership with content distribution management and partnership development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in science journalism and publishing.
• Strong strategic thinking for editorial partnerships and distribution.
• Excellent communications and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing platforms.
• Financial acumen to understand operational aspects.

Responsibilities

• Develop stories with freelancers and staff, set deadlines, and craft headlines.
• Develop publishing and content sharing agreements with internal teams.
• Monitor partnerships, track performance, and improve workflows.
• Represent CEN with partners and journalist communities.
• Maintain networks for new story ideas and conference attendance.
• Ensure freelancers have contracts and SOWs.
• Coordinate with creatives to select art for stories.
• Promote CEN partnerships on homepage, social channels, and newsletters.
• Edit other items and cover breaking news.
• Mentor junior staff.
