TruLegal is seeking a seasoned CONTRACT eDiscovery & Info Gov Consultant to lead a focused document retention and information governance initiative. You will implement and adopt the company’s retention program, turning policies into practical systems, workflows, and long‑term processes across Legal, IT, Security, Privacy, and Finance.

The role is remote from anywhere in the U.S. for a 4–6 month engagement, working cross‑functionally to reconcile holds, establish retention controls, and drive

Qualifikationen

• Substantial in‑house experience in eDiscovery or information governance.
• Ideally includes at least 10 years of in‑house experience.
• Experience in a technology company handling sensitive data with lean legal teams.
• Ability to lead retention programs from policy to technical execution and adoption.
• Strong collaboration across Legal, IT, Security, Privacy, People, and Finance.
• Hands‑on with legal holds, defensible disposition, and preservation.

Aufgaben

• Assess current policies, repositories, and preservation practices.
• Partner with Litigation Counsel and Legal Operations to refine retention policies across data sources.
• Develop exceptions to established retention periods.
• Create an implementation plan outlining priorities, owners, dependencies, and required decisions.
• Reconcile active matters, custodians, data sources, and legal holds.
• Lead a phased rollout and approved cleanup of legacy information.
• Train internal owners and complete a practical transition and handoff at engagement end.
