Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support enterprise edge infrastructure and application delivery. You will work on Akamai-based CDN, traffic management, and security services, while configuring DNS, load balancers, TLS, and reverse proxies to ensure secure, reliable access to critical applications.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting across multiple layers, collaboration with cybersecurity teams, and continuous improvement of platform performance.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related field.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, and network troubleshooting.
Practical experience with HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL, certificates, and web application connectivity.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise application delivery and edge services.
Support Akamai platform administration including CDN, traffic management, and security services.
Manage DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, reverse proxies, caching, and load-balancing configurations.
