Job summary

Amentum seeks engineers with deep expertise in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) and EMP to advance naval ship architectures and systems. The role involves EMP research, analysis, requirements development, and testing programs across shipboard platforms.

Responsibilities include evaluating E3/EMP impacts, performing risk analyses, and developing technical conclusions with sponsor-ready reports. The position covers MIL-STD 461 and LLCW testing planning, data collection, and SOP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
  • Twelve (12) years of demonstrated knowledge and subject matter expertise in relevant domains.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret US Government Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Performing EMP research, analysis, requirements definition and development, assessments, test and evaluation.
  • Assess impacts of E3/EMP on shipboard configurations and systems, perform EMP risk and mission analyses.
  • Assess High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) effects and write technical reports meeting sponsor requirements.
  • Plan and participate in MIL-STD 461 testing at the NOTES test facility.
  • Plan and participate in LLCW testing; perform data acquisition, analysis, and SOP refinement.
