Job summary

Amentum is seeking engineers to perform EMP evolutions on naval ship architectures and systems. The role involves research, analysis, requirements development, testing, and detailed reporting to sponsors.

Responsibilities include assessing E3/EMP impacts on shipboard configurations, conducting mission-risk analyses, and planning MIL-STD 461 testing and LLCW demonstrations. A Top Secret clearance is required, with US citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline.
  • Twelve (12) years of demonstrated knowledge in engineering or technical fields related to EMP/E3/Electromagnetic effects.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in EMP/E3/EMI/EMC/E3 computation and modeling.
  • Active Top Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities

  • Perform EMP research, analysis, requirements definition and development, assessments, test and evaluation.
  • Assess impacts of E3/EMP on shipboard configurations and systems; perform EMP risk and mission analyses.
  • Assess High-Altitude EMP (HEMP) effects.
  • Develop technical and operational conclusions and write technical reports per sponsor requirements.
  • Plan and participate in MIL-STD 461 testing at NOTEs facility.
  • Plan and participate in LLCW testing; perform data acquisition and analysis; refine LLCW SOPs.
