Job summary

AMEWAS is seeking an Electrical Engineer (EMI)-Junior to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The role focuses on EMI/EMC testing and system integration for DoD projects in Patuxent River, MD.

On-site work is required with a competitive salary and strong growth potential. The department focuses on testing, evaluation, and simulation for naval systems, offering exposure to MIL-STD-461, RF measurements, and test documentation development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Experience with EMI/RF lab test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Receivers, Antennas, Amplifiers, Multimeters).
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings; basic troubleshooting and calculations.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supports EMI testing in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) in RDT&E.
• Prepares EMI/EMC tests per MIL-STD-461.
• Installs System Under Test in shielded enclosure per test plan.
• Verifies SUT operation and defines failure criteria.
• Ensures test equipment calibration and proper operation.
• Develops test documentation and presents results to customers.
• Maintains positive working relationships in the department.
• Performs other duties as necessary.
