AMEWAS is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer (EMI) - Junior to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects within the IBST Department’s E3 facility. The role involves conducting EMI/EMC tests, installing SUTs in shields, and documenting results.

On-site work at Patuxent River, MD is required, with a salary range of $78,600 to $102,900 commensurate with experience. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, has at least one year of relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related field required/qualified
• 1 year of relevant work experience
• Experience with EMI/RF lab test equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Receivers, Antennas, Amplifiers, Multi-meters)
• Experience reading and understanding schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Experience performing basic electrical troubleshooting and fault isolation
• Experience performing basic engineering calculation and analysis
• Proficiency Windows OS and Microsoft Office
• Minimum clearance required to apply: N/A

Responsibilities

• Serves as an Electrical Engineer-Junior in the EMI team
• Prepares and conducts EMI/EMC tests using MIL-STD-461 standards
• Installs the System Under Test (SUT) in the shielded enclosure per test plan
• Verifies SUT operation and defines failure criteria
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and operating correctly
• Performs setup and calibration measurements per applicable standards
• Executes testing and notes deviations due to equipment or observation
• Develops test documentation and presents results to customers
• Maintains effective working relationships within the department
• Interacts with others to maintain a positive work environment
• Performs other duties as necessary
