Job summary

AmTrust E&S Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group, is seeking an AVP, Underwriting to lead a team of underwriters for the Specialty Casualty Unit. The role oversees E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess products within the assigned region, guiding pricing, risk assessment, and profitability strategies.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in commercial underwriting with E&S casualty emphasis, strong analytical and leadership skills, and a track record of building broker

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years Commercial Underwriting with emphasis on E&S Casualty.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to document guidance and decisions.
• Ability to lead a team and coach underwriters in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess products in designated region.
• Develop workflows and maximize underwriting automation.
• Audit underwriters to identify training needs and guideline gaps.
• Assist underwriters with complex underwriting issues and decisions.
• Represent the Underwriting Department with internal and external contacts.
• Develop relationships with wholesale brokers to grow book of business.
• Train new staff as needed.
