AmTrust E&S Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group, is seeking an AVP, Underwriting to lead a team of underwriters for the Specialty Casualty Unit. The role oversees E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess products within the assigned region, guiding pricing, risk assessment, and profitability strategies.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in commercial underwriting with E&S casualty emphasis, strong analytical and leadership skills, and a track record of building broker

Overview

AmTrust E&S Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group of companies, is searching for an experienced and knowledgeable AVP, Underwriting to manage and lead a group of underwriters and assistants for our Specialty Casualty Unit.

This individual will oversee activities of our E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess Products within designated region. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze, and price insurance coverage for commercial insureds. Analyze various rate plans utilizing claims history, risk characteristics and tailor coverage appropriately based on company guidelines. Gather competitor information, develop, and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers, and develop tools to grow department and underwriting profitability. May require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or requires equivalent work experience. Familiar with a variety of E&S concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Provide support and coaching to other underwriters and provide leadership for multiple products within the team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Commercial Underwriting background with emphasis on E&S Casualty
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of costs and expenses
• Exceptional Customer Service skills (internal and external), strong written and verbal communication skills
• Determine acceptability of risk in accordance with company guidelines and standards
• Experience working with wholesale brokerage community
• Team focused with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

The expected salary range for this role is $131,200-$220,000/year.
