Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Account Executive Officer for Northfield E&S Brokerage in Chicago. You will partner with agents to provide coverage for new and renewal business, assess highly complex risk, and drive profitability.

You will underwrite, negotiate, and cultivate relationships across internal and external partners to optimize sales plans and market opportunities. Travel will be required to meet with brokers and grow accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Eight to ten years of underwriting experience in E&S.
• Deep knowledge of E&S products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Advanced sales and marketing skills.
• CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business, with high-complexity accounts.
• Underwrite and negotiate highly complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers in person to market and sell Travelers products and write/retain accounts per risk appetite; travel required.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities using advanced consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans; collaborate with MD to build regional sales plans.
• Support mentoring of less experienced underwriters with coaching skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
