Job summary

Celanese is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to maintain and repair plant equipment at our Chester, VA site. This 12-hour rotating shift supports production across polymer and film processes, with a team of 12 across shifts.

The role emphasizes safe, craftsman-like work and adherence to electrical standards. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, calibration, trouble shooting of DCS/PLC systems, and coordination with operations to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience maintaining and repairing Electrical & Instrumentation Equipment in Industrial / Manufacturing environments.
• Experience reading schematics.
• Experience using test equipment and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Checks and performs preventive maintenance on motor control center equipment; repairs or replaces motors as needed.
• Operates SAP to input time/material data to work orders and track equipment history.
• Maintains calibration records and procedures; assists with ISO calibrations.
• Repairs electrical equipment including motors, drives, panels, and control systems.
• Troubleshoots and maintains DCS/PLC systems and field instruments; supports shutdown planning.
