Job summary

Saige Partners in Baytown, TX is seeking an experienced E&I Engineer to support a large-scale chemical operation. You will troubleshoot high-voltage electrical systems, DCS hardware, instrumentation, PLC interfaces, and cogeneration assets.

The role emphasizes planning, preventive maintenance, and documentation, with collaboration across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and EHS to improve reliability and plant safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• Around 10 years of experience supporting maintenance in a chemical plant or similar industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting of industrial high-voltage electrical systems.
• Solid understanding of DCS controls, system interfacing, and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting for industrial electrical and instrumentation systems, including high-voltage equipment.
• Support reliability and maintenance of critical plant electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
• Work with DCS hardware and system interfaces; PLC experience is highly valued.
• Plan and prioritize maintenance work, developing detailed job plans and required resources.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs, calibration procedures, PM checklists, and related documentation.
• Analyze equipment history to identify opportunities to improve maintenance effectiveness and plant reliability.
• Support maintenance and operation of an onsite cogeneration facility.
• Provide technical oversight related to gas compressors operating in HRVOC service.
• Evaluate spare-parts requirements and availability to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Engineering on new projects and plant improvements.
• Maintain accurate E&I documentation and mentor technicians on systems and procedures.
• Ensure work orders are completed per plant procedures and safety standards.
