Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (E&I) Designer to lead the design of electrical and instrumentation systems for capital projects in Houston and Odessa. You will provide design leadership and collaborate with the project team throughout the lifecycle, ensuring compliant, high-quality deliverables.

The role requires strong experience in process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems, plus AutoCAD proficiency and NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industrial design experience in process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems.
• Design Checking experience.
• EPC Design experience.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Associates Degree in an industrial technology program or evaluated equivalent experience.
• Medium Voltage Design Experience (Above 1000v).
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Strong working knowledge of electrical design (conduit and cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, etc.).
• Working knowledge of instrumentation design (installation details, control panels, etc.).
• Familiarity with pneumatic, electronic and analytical instrumentation used to measure and control flow, temperature, pressure and analytical properties of fluids.
• Proficiency in reading technical documentation including P&ID, loop drawings, wiring schematics, specifications.
• Microsoft Office experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems in accordance with recognized standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team to achieve objectives.
• Design medium and low voltage power distribution and controls, control system wiring, plant lighting, heat tracing, and installation of process instrumentation.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverables in assigned areas.
