Job summary

Insight Recruitment is seeking a senior-level Business Central ERP Developer to own the internal BC environment, performing hands-on AL development and guiding system-wide improvements. You will work with business stakeholders across operations, finance and supply chain to design, implement, and optimize BC solutions while minimizing unnecessary customization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV with modern BC experience.
• Proficiency with AL and extension-based development.
• Ability to understand and model complex ERP business processes.
• Experience integrating BC with third-party systems such as shipping, payments or EDI.
• Comfort as internal ERP owner rather than a consulting role.
• Balance speed, stability and long-term maintainability in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-directed, dependable and focused on durable internal solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day technical health, design and evolution of the BC environment.
• Design, develop and maintain BC solutions using AL and extension-based practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to map end-to-end processes across operations, finance and supply chain.
• Evaluate requirements and choose standard BC vs. configuration or custom development.
• Code hands-on while guiding ERP design decisions as internal authority.
• Support and enhance BC integrations with third-party platforms (shipping, payments, EDI, docs, treasury).
• Provide technical direction for outsourced or partner-led development and review deliverables.
• Reduce reliance on external partners by growing internal BC expertise.
• Troubleshoot ERP issues focusing on long-term stability and scalability.
• Contribute to documentation, standards and best practices across the ERP environment.
• Collaborate with small internal IT team across systems, BI, PM and development.
