Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior DSP/Firmware Engineer to conceptualize, design and develop firmware for DSP-based digital control systems used in programmable AC & DC power products. You will implement control algorithms, analyze design performance, and create test plans to validate results.

Responsibilities include bootloader development for DSPs and microcontrollers, with cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal hardware and system-level integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Eng.
8+ years developing power control for power-supply applications.
Experience with DC-DC converters, PFC systems and grid-tied inverters.
Real-time embedded programming in Embedded C & Assembly.
Experience with SPI, I2C and CAN communication protocols.

Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and develop firmware for DSP-based digital control systems in programmable power products.
Implement digital control algorithms, perform design analysis (gain/phase plots) and document results.
Create and execute test plans to validate performance and develop bootloaders for DSPs and microcontrollers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless hardware and system-level integration.
