Job summary

OmniOn Power is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop firmware for AC-DC rectifier and DC-DC converter products. You will implement real-time control algorithms, ensure compatibility across platforms, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver reliable power electronics solutions.

The role requires hands-on design, debugging high-power circuits, and adherence to coding standards using common revision control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years of embedded firmware experience.
• 5+ years of real-time embedded systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded firmware on a DSP in C for real-time control of power conversion topologies.
• Implement and tune closed-loop digital control (PI, PID, PR) and required assembly for critical routines.
• Develop inter-processor communication protocols and serial poll/response schemes.
• Perform lab debugging on high-power/high-voltage circuits and ensure robust operation.
• Maintain coding standards and use revision control (CVS, Azure, or Git).
• Present results and recommendations at design reviews for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with power electronics hardware team to optimize designs and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure firmware compatibility across systems/products and maintain technical documentation.
• Demonstrate competency with IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse).
