Job summary

AMETEK Programmable Power in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior DSP/Firmware Engineer to conceptualize, design and develop firmware for DSP-based digital control systems used in programmable AC & DC power products. You will implement control algorithms, analyze design performance, and create test plans to validate results.

Responsibilities include bootloader development for DSPs and microcontrollers, with cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal hardware and system-level integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Eng.
• 8+ years developing power control for power-supply applications.
• Experience with DC-DC converters, PFC systems and grid-tied inverters.
• Real-time embedded programming in Embedded C & Assembly.
• Experience with SPI, I2C and CAN communication protocols.

Min. Rqmts: Bach/equiv in Electrical/Electronics Eng’g + 8 yr developing power control for power supply applications (inc. DC-DC converters, PFC systems & grid-tied inverters); power electronics converter topologies (inc. AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC systems); Embedded C & Assembly language programming for real-time embedded systems; control peripherals (inc. ADCs, PWMs, DACs); and 6 yr comm protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C & CAN).
