Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior engineer to develop DSP/PHY algorithms for the TeraWave Custom Silicon in a multi-site setting (Bay Area, Austin, or Kent). You will optimize performance, implement real-time DSP in MATLAB/Python/C/C++, and enable FPGA/ASIC deployment with pre-silicon verification.

You will collaborate with ASIC, RFIC, and software teams, aiming for low power, high efficiency, and robust signal processing across the system.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in signal processing or modem design.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with PHY, DSP, beamforming, RF and/or mixed-signal designs.
• Strong hands-on programming in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ for DSP/communications development.
• Experience with floating-point and fixed-point modeling, bit-accurate implementation, and optimization.
• Experience with MATLAB, SystemC, C/C++ or other system-level modeling tools.
• Knowledge of DSP and communications systems, filters.

Responsibilities

• Develop models and algorithms for the TeraWave Custom Silicon.
• Hands-on development and implementation of DSP/PHY algorithms using MATLAB, Python, and C/C++.
• Take algorithms from floating-point modeling through fixed-point implementation and verification.
• Drive for lowest power consumption and highest performance.
• Target algorithms for FPGA and ASIC implementation, including fixed-point optimization and analysis.
• Support the ASIC implementation through pre-silicon verification.
• Design advanced digital end-to-end communication systems.
• Develop and model channel impairment models.
• Collaborate with ASIC, RFIC, and SW teams.
• Bring up prototype pre-silicon platforms and validate performance.
