Job summary

Vector Atomic, an IonQ company, is seeking a Senior DSP Engineer to join our team in Pleasanton, CA. You will design algorithms for instrument control, develop tests, and implement signal processing for limited-resource embedded systems, with a path toward commercial devices.

You will collaborate with physicists, EEs, software engineers, and operations to translate requirements into robust hardware-and-firmware solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM field with 5+ years in signal processing.
• Strong theory and practical DSP knowledge across FFTs, filters, Kalman, and modulation.
• Ability to implement digital algorithms on FPGA and CPU firmware.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of physicists, EEs, mechanicals, and optical engineers to build quantum instruments.
• Design signal processing algorithms for precision sensors for CPUs and RTL-based FPGA systems.
• Use simulation tools to define and validate customized signal-processing algorithms for sensor apps.
• Develop implementations that meet system-level requirements in resource-limited embedded systems; translate to RTL/firmware.
• Define experiments to characterize plant behavior, measure performance, and perform system identification.
• Collaborate with EEs and software engineers to identify issues and debug systems.
