Job summary

IonQ, Inc., Vector Atomic, an IonQ company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development of high-speed mixed-signal PCBA designs for quantum instruments. Based onsite in Pleasanton, CA, you will oversee concept to production and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in HDI layouts, FPGA/MCU integration, EMI/EMC considerations, and hands-on debugging with lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years, or Master’s with 3+ years.
• 3+ years of mixed-signal PCBA design with advanced ECAD tools.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for export controls (per US laws).

Responsibilities

• System Design & Collaboration: translate system requirements into schematic designs with cross-functional teams.
• Full-Lifecycle PCB Development: lead PCBA for high-speed digital, analog, mixed-signal, RF.
• Design Standards & Integrity: set PCB layout standards, impedance, EMI/EMC strategies.
• Optimization: select components and routing for SI, PI, thermal, manufacturability.
• Power Management: design POL power supply circuits with sequencing and ripple control.
• Manufacturing & Test: ensure DFM/ DFA, improve yields, define test procedures.
• Documentation: maintain design data, revisions, ECOs in PLM/cloud systems.
• Laboratory Support: hands-on hardware debugging with lab equipment.
