Job summary

Lewis Energy Group seeks a Drilling Fluid Technician V to support wellsite operations across South Texas and beyond. The role focuses on drilling fluid technology, solids control, and equipment maintenance to maximize rig uptime and well stability.

You will interpret fluid programs, calibrate lab equipment, and collaborate with rig crews while mentoring newer technicians. A Bachelor's degree and oilfield experience are required, along with a valid driver's license and Fluids Tech training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years oilfield experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide drilling fluid service to optimize rig performance and service quality.
• Offer technical guidance to maximize rig performance and well stability.
• Interpret drilling fluid programs and follow mix recommendations for each well.
• Maintain good relationships with rig personnel and assist in planning operations.
• Troubleshoot drilling fluid problems on location.
• Oversee solids control operations and ensure equipment runs within spec.
• Inspect and maintain lab and auxiliary equipment; calibrate mud scale and related tools.
• Schedule drilling fluid sacks and bulk materials; manage inventory.
• Generate daily drilling fluid reports and reconciled end-of-well recap.
• Mentor and train junior technicians.
