Job summary

SLB in New Iberia, Louisiana seeks a Drilling Fluids Specialist to safely manage wellsite operations and optimize mud systems. You will test and adjust fluids, monitor chemistry, and collaborate with the Project Engineer to implement the drilling fluids program.

Qualified candidates have at least a 2-year technical degree, 5 years of field experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, and legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year Associate/Technical Degree or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience as a drilling fluids Specialist in feep water Gulf of America.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently manage wellsite drilling fluids operations.
• Test and maintain drilling fluids system properties.
• Make recommendations to address hole cleaning issues or lost circulation.
• Calculate volumes (mud pits, annular, pipe capacity & displacements) and apply pit management.
• Collaborate with the Project Engineer to implement the drilling fluids program.
• Ensure the drilling fluids system remains within specifications.
