Job summary

AES Drilling Fluids seeks an Engineering Field Supervisor for West Texas to oversee field activities and lead drilling fluids engineers in delivering safe, high-quality service. The role reports to the Regional Engineering Manager and focuses on meeting client expectations while maintaining AES standards.

Candidate should have 5+ years in drilling fluids engineering with supervisory experience, ISO familiarity, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or Technical Degree in Engineering or Chemistry preferred.
• Successful completion of an AES-approved mud school.
• At least five (5) years of hands-on drilling fluids engineering experience.
• Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in an ISO environment is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conducts rig visits daily to oversee and manage drilling fluids engineers for optimal service.
• Trains new hires and consultants on well-related drilling fluids and project handover processes.
• Investigates and resolves performance issues, including disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensures compliance with AES policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Assists in interviewing and assigning drilling fluids engineers to projects.
• Participates in performance reviews and provides feedback.
• Begins wells awarded on short notice and ensures smooth handover to engineers.
• Develops and adjusts client-specific drilling fluids programs and reports.
• Provides guidance by leading morning reviews, spud meetings, and feedback sessions.
• Supports sales and field staff to achieve service goals and monitor rig performance.
• Maintains communication with customer representatives and field teams to resolve inquiries.
• Ensures coordination between field operations and AES warehouses to prevent waste.
• Contributes to AES’s continual improvement program in ISO compliance.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by Engineering Manager or US Head of Engineering.
