Placements24 seeks an experienced Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer for a remote technical support role serving operations near East London. You will design drilling fluid programs, manage rheology and chemistry, and troubleshoot downhole fluid issues while ensuring safety, environmental, and operational standards in Oil & Gas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as drilling fluids engineer in Oil & Gas.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, additives, and systems.
• Experience with solids control equipment and fluid mixing systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and remote collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement drilling fluid programs tailored to well objectives and geological conditions.
• Supervise and advise on management of drilling fluid properties (rheology, density, chemical makeup).
• Troubleshoot downhole fluid-related problems (stuck pipe, lost circulation, formation damage).
• Ensure environmental compliance for drilling fluid disposal and management.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and rig site personnel to optimize fluid performance and costs.
