Placements24 is placing a Senior Drilling Engineer to join a client team operating offshore, centered in George. The role focuses on planning, executing, and supervising complex drilling campaigns, ensuring safety and environmental compliance in challenging offshore environments.

You will lead drilling programs, mentor crews, and collaborate with subsurface teams and service providers to optimize performance, reduce costs, and deliver successful well campaigns in a dynamic energy portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on drilling engineering experience, with offshore exposure.
• Expertise in well planning, directional drilling, and casing/cementing operations.
• Knowledge of drilling equipment, technologies, and well control principles.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong leadership and communication for multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed drilling programs and well plans while ensuring safety and environmental standards.
• Perform risk assessments and mitigation strategies for drilling operations.
• Provide on-site technical support and supervision during drilling phases.
• Manage relationships with drilling contractors and service companies.
• Optimize drilling parameters to improve efficiency and reduce NPT.
• Conduct post-drill analysis and report lessons learned.
