Job summary

ECS Group is seeking a Senior Driller to lead advanced geotechnical drilling projects in the field across multiple sites. You will operate drilling equipment, collect soil samples and CPT data, and ensure safe, efficient field execution while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires hands-on experience with drill rigs, Geoprobe, and related procedures, plus ability to travel overnight and work non-standard schedules. Strong communication and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of related drilling experience.
• Class A CDL preferred; valid license required if driving for ECS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with GPS systems and maps.
• Experience with drill rigs, push rigs, and sampling methods.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical repairs.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work non-standard schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform drilling operations including borings and Geoprobe work.
• Operate Geoprobe equipment to collect soil samples and CPT data.
• Adjust drilling parameters and monitor progress.
• Maintain and service drill rigs and support vehicles.
• Plan daily activities to meet productivity goals.
• Record drilling data and field reports accurately.
• Mentor and train Driller Helpers and Drillers.
• Ensure safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant work environment.
