Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Technician – Downhole Tools in Texas to assemble, test, and repair complex downhole electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies for HPHT environments. You'll work with engineering, quality, and field service teams, ensuring tool readiness, documenting procedures, and adhering to QMS and HSE standards.

The role requires an AAS/AS in a related field and 7–10 years of hands-on experience, with strong troubleshooting and fixture testing

Qualifications

• Hands-on electromechanical experience with downhole tools or similar systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with HPHT environments and test fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair downhole electronic assemblies.
• Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical tool components.
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
• Perform comprehensive functional testing using standard equipment.
• Conduct pressure, leak, and environmental testing per specs.
• Diagnose nonconformances and support root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and HSE requirements.
• Maintain documentation and traceability.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and field service teams.
• Support continuous improvement in quality, safety, and efficiency.
