Job summary

Baker Hughes seeks an Electromechanical Technician - Downhole Tools to assemble, test, and repair complex downhole assemblies for HPHT environments. You will diagnose issues, perform multi-system testing, and document results, ensuring tool readiness and compliance with QMS and HSE standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training with hands-on experience in electromechanical, hydraulic, and downhole tool systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, and test documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair downhole electronic assemblies (PCBs, sensors, telemetry modules, power systems).
• Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical tool components (housings, bearings, shafts, seals, connectors).
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems (valves, pistons, actuators, pressure chambers).
• Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and system-level functional testing with standard equipment.
• Conduct pressure, leak, and environmental testing per specifications.
• Diagnose nonconformances, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and HSE requirements.
• Maintain documentation and traceability of components and tests.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and field service teams for tool readiness.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and efficiency.
