Zusammenfassung

Baker Hughes is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to join our Downhole Tools team. You will work hands-on with electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to assemble, test, and qualify high‑quality downhole tools designed for HPHT environments.

You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and field service teams to maintain tool readiness and support continuous improvement across operations. The role emphasizes safety, precision, and rigorous documentation.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training and career experience
• 3–5 years hands-on electromechanical/hydraulic/downhole tool experience
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Experience with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes)
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with standard measuring tools and torque-controlled assembly
• Basic computer skills for documentation and test data entry
• Experience with data analytics, Excel, SAP, MS Office, Outlook
• IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 certifications
• Experience with HPHT or oilfield downhole tools
• Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities
• Ownership and safety-first mindset

Aufgaben

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair downhole electronic assemblies (PCBs, sensors, telemetry modules, power systems)
• Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical tool components
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems (valves, pistons, actuators)
• Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and system-level functional testing
• Conduct pressure, leak, and environmental testing for specifications
• Diagnose nonconformances and support root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with QMS and HSE requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation and traceability
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and field teams to ensure tool readiness
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, safety, and efficiency
