Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Electromechanical Technician – Downhole Tools in Midland, Texas. You will assemble, test, troubleshoot, and qualify downhole tool assemblies designed for HPHT environments, working with electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to ensure tool readiness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training plus 3–5 years hands-on electromechanical experience.
• Experience with electromechanical, hydraulic, and downhole tool systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair downhole electronic assemblies (PCBs, sensors, telemetry modules, power systems).
• Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical tool components (housings, bearings, seals, connectors).
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems (valves, pistons, actuators).
• Perform functional testing with standard equipment; conduct pressure and environmental tests.
• Diagnose nonconformances, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
