Baker Hughes in Texas seeks an Electromechanical Technician to assemble, test, and repair downhole tools used in high-pressure, high-temperature environments. You will work across electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, collaborating with engineering, quality, and field service teams to ensure tool readiness and reliability.

Ideal candidates bring an AAS/AS in Electromechanical Technology or equivalent training with 7–10 years hands-on experience and strong schematics literacy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical training required.
• 7–10 years hands-on experience with electromechanical, hydraulic, or downhole tool systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and torque-controlled assembly.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

Responsabilités

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair downhole electronic assemblies including PCBs, sensors, telemetry modules, power systems, and wiring harnesses.
• Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical tool components including housings, bearings, shafts, seals, fasteners, and connectors.
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems such as valves, pistons, actuators, and pressure chambers.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and system-level functional testing using standard equipment.
• Conduct pressure, leak, and environmental testing to verify tool performance and compliance.
• Diagnose nonconformances, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with QMS and HSE requirements; maintain thorough documentation and traceability.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and field service teams to sustain tool readiness and reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and efficiency.
