Job summary

McLean Contracting Company in the Baltimore, MD area is seeking a DOT Superintendent to lead the Traffic Division. You will oversee project scope, budget, safety, and scheduling, directing field Supervisors and coordinating with engineers, managers, and subcontractors.

The role demands a minimum of 10 years related experience, with at least 5 years in highway lighting, traffic signals, ITS, and strong CPM scheduling skills. A Class A CDL and related certificates are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10 years or more of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in highway lighting, traffic signals, signing, electrical, ITS.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
• Experience in cost and schedule control.

Responsibilities

• Exercises strong problem solving and leads a management team to meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.
• Actively manages project personnel and the layout, function, and appearance of project sites.
• Coordinates with field supervisors to optimize operations and ensure conformance with contract requirements.
• Plans procedures based on specifications to complete projects safely and on time with staffing and equipment as needed.
• Assembles project personnel and has advanced understanding of CPM schedules.
• Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and execution of work.
• Leads planning, means and methods evaluations, scheduling, quality control, and job site safety.
• Maintains accountability for completing the defined scope of work and related superintendent duties.
• Monitors safety, schedule, and cost; adjusts operations to meet goals and contract requirements.
• Keeps progress and cost reports and adjusts schedules accordingly.
• Prepares final field records, including as-built documents, for the project.
