Job summary

Leidos is seeking a cleared Senior WAN Engineer to design, operate, and sustain long-haul transport and routing infrastructure across DoD networks. You will work with the Network Architect on BGP design, peering, and policy across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and DISN, ensuring availability and STIG compliance.

You will coordinate with DISA/NOC teams, monitor WAN health, and mentor junior engineers while supporting on-call and after-hours cutovers.

Qualifications

Clearance: US Citizen with Top Secret and SCI eligibility.
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years or Master’s with 6+ years; advanced experience considered.
8+ years hands-on enterprise WAN engineering/DoD operations ownership.
DoD 8570/8140 IAT II certs plus active CCNP/JNCIP-SP or equivalent.
Proficiency with eBGP/iBGP, route maps, prefix lists, AS-path filters, and BGP policy.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain BGP routing architecture across the enterprise WAN.
Escalation authority for complex WAN faults and performance issues.
Engineer circuit installations, migrations, and site cutovers with rollback plans.
Develop routing policy standards and authoritative network documentation.
Configure QoS and traffic engineering for mission-critical traffic.
