Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) seeks a Network Engineer to support a high-visibility Air Force program at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. You will work with the Program Office and contractors to design and implement robust tactical networks and ensure real-time data transfer.

The role requires extensive DoD network experience, security expertise, and ability to travel up to 20%. Candidates must hold TS/SCI clearance and BS in engineering; Master's preferred.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience with 14 years of relevant DoD networks experience.
• Familiarization with DoD acquisitions process.
• Familiarization with tactical Datalinks and aircraft comms systems.
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing complex network systems.
• Deep knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SNMP) and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as tactical network engineer guiding robust network architectures.
• Provide SME support to technical reviews and Capability Release Team.
• Evaluate development, integration, modernization, and sustainment initiatives across the portfolio.
• Analyze proposals and develop test/verification plans for government and industry.
• Design secure, scalable network infrastructure for real-time communications.
• Plan implementation and oversee network configurations, hardware installs, upgrades.
• Identify tools for network performance and high availability.
• Collaborate with IT and ops to integrate networks with sensors and databases.
• Ensure interoperability between tactical systems and networks.
• Advise on network performance optimization for mission-critical ops.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
• Assist in weapon system design reviews and verification reports.
• Develop data to build and present program briefs.
