Job summary

Akina is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to lead requirements analysis and system design for DoD-related programs at Fort Meade, MD. The role drives the creation of system specifications and architecture, guiding cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with DoDAF and SOA frameworks.

The candidate will develop comprehensive documentation, participate in program reviews, and ensure traceability from requirements through to implementation and testing.

Qualifications

• 14 years of SE experience in programs of similar scope and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, CS, IS or related field
• Active DoD 8570 CWIP certification (e.g., Security+) or equivalent
• Willingness to travel as required

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and lead design and development activities for DoD systems
• Develop system requirements specifications and allocate to HW, SW, and people
• Coordinate cross-discipline actions and resolve action items from reviews
• Prepare system engineering documentation including SE Plans, ICDs, and Interface Control Documents
• Provide technical direction for integration, testing, and verification against requirements
