Job summary

Akina is seeking a Software Engineer 3 for Fort Meade, Maryland to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems. This role involves analytics, data handling, real-time considerations, and integration with Jira/Confluence.

The candidate will lead teams as appropriate, apply agile practices, and work with Git, Docker, Spring, and Kafka in a collaborative environment. A TS/SCI with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless integrations that enhance productivity and workflows.
• Follow and contribute to software development processes, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Develop algorithms to meet performance and functional standards.
• Develop and execute test procedures for software components.
• Oversee one or more software development teams where applicable.
