Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead deployment, integration, performance optimization, and lifecycle sustainment of enterprise cybersecurity platforms within secure DoD environments.

You will bridge bare-metal hardware, operating systems, virtualization layers, container platforms, and telemetry pipelines to ensure high availability and interoperability across multi‑tenant architectures. Strong DoD experience, Linux mastery, and container automation are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, platform infrastructure operations, or enterprise systems administration in DoD/federal environments.
• Experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining enterprise server hardware, storage, and networking equipment.
• Proficiency with enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL/ Rocky/ CentOS/ Ubuntu).
• Experience deploying containerized workloads (Docker) and hypervisors (VMware ESXi, KVM).
• Automation scripting with Python and shell/Bash to interface with REST APIs and manage infra tasks.
• Experience with data/log aggregation platforms (Elastic Stack).
• Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Architect, configure, rack/stack, install, and sustain bare-metal compute servers and storage for DoD cyber defense infrastructure.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads and virtual machines ensuring multi-tenant isolation and automated recovery.
• Administer Linux environments and harden systems per STIGs.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate configurations, health diagnostics, and patching.
• Support telemetry ingestion, index management, and cluster health for Elastic Stack deployments.
• Collaborate with cyber defense operators and engineers to translate security requirements into platform specs.
