Job summary

World Wide Technology is seeking a Network Engineer to support DoD cybersecurity platforms in a fully on-site Washington, DC environment. You will focus on platform operations, automation, threat intel integration and cyber defense analytics.

Key responsibilities include designing zero-trust network architectures, implementing SD-WAN, configuring network devices, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. DoD clearance and strong security experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in network security or network engineering roles, focusing on Zero Trust and network security.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and managing LAN/WAN networks.
• Knowledge of zero trust security best practices including firewall and segmentation.
• Understanding of routing, switching, multicast, QoS, and related protocols.
• Experience with log forwarding and SIEM integrations.
• Public cloud networking and security in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a high distributed network aligned with zero trust principles.
• Design and implement SD-WAN architecture spanning multiple sites.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and related software.
• Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and optimizations.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and logs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues related to performance and security.
• Develop disaster recovery plans for network resilience.
• Mentor junior network engineers and collaborate with other IT teams.
