Senior DoD Network Engineer – TS/SCI | Onsite Ft. Bragg

Job summary

SMX seeks a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure at Fort Bragg, NC. The role focuses on high availability, performance, and secure routing/switching across large DoD-related environments.

You will leverage DoD enclave experience, Cisco technologies, and SolarWinds to deliver robust solutions while mentoring teammates and coordinating with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years directly related experience or Master’s degree and 3+ years directly related experience.
• Experience architecting and designing IP networks, including developing and documenting network topologies.
• Experience troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages.
• Experience designing and implementing DoD enclaves, including compute storage, networking, routing, switching, and end-user devices.
• Experience implementing and maintaining Cisco ISE.
• Knowledge of Cisco Firepower systems and firewall appliances.
• Experience configuring and maintaining TACLANEs.
• Experience building and maintaining SolarWinds.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• CCNA Certification (or higher networking certification).

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships quickly and clearly with other teams, communicating complex network architectures to senior management.
• Implement and maintain robust network infrastructure and routing/switching controls for high availability and performance across large environments.
• Perform architecture reviews, capacity planning, and end-to-end troubleshooting across network, system, and core transport areas.
