Job summary

Salesforce in Herndon, VA is seeking trailblazing backend software engineers to build a large-scale distributed platform used by millions. You will design, develop, and operate resilient services across data centers, embracing AI-first engineering and modern infra tooling.

You will own Terraform IaC, Kubernetes microservices, and AI-assisted workflows, collaborate in on-call rotations, and push the boundaries of production‑grade software with a strong emphasis on reliability and security.

Qualifications

5+ years backend software development experience.
Proficiency in Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
Experience with Agile and Test Driven Development.
Experience with distributed databases and monitoring/alerting.

Responsibilities

Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools and validation platforms on public clouds.
Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
Build production-grade software with AI at the core of development workflows.
Use and contribute to open source tech like Spinnaker, Zookeeper.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
Write microservices on Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos.
Design AI agent integrations into human workflows at scale.
Evaluate code (human or AI) for correctness, security, performance.
Participate in on-call rotations to keep services highly available.
