Job summary

Louisiana DOTD is seeking an experienced district-level Maintenance leader to plan, manage, and evaluate maintenance operations for District 61 in East Baton Rouge. The role oversees budgets, contracts, personnel, and quality assurance to keep transportation assets reliable.

Applicants must hold a Louisiana Professional Engineer license with supervisory experience; out-of-state licensure may be accepted with Louisiana licensure prior to appointment, and substitutions may apply for advanced

Possession of a current Louisiana Professional Engineer license.
Two years of supervisory-level experience required.
Licensing must meet Louisiana board requirements; out-of-state licenses may require Louisiana licensure prior to appointment.
Engineering experience is evaluated with substitutions (master's or doctorate degrees may substitute for years of experience).

Responsibilities

Executive Maintenance Oversight: serve as the district's senior authority for maintenance operations.
Budget & Resource Management: develop and manage multi-million dollar budgets for materials and programs.
Contract Administration: lead district maintenance contracts and oversee bidding and funding allocations.
Personnel & Administration: act as appointing authority for district staff and manage payroll and training.
Quality Assurance: develop and maintain the Maintenance QA program to measure performance.
Stakeholder & Legal Representation: coordinate with officials and agencies and provide testimony when needed.
Coordinate Emergency Response: lead the district's response to storm damage or road hazards.
