Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Professional Engineer license is required.
• Three years of licensed engineering experience or seven years of professional engineering experience.
• Advanced degrees can substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates construction inspection, contract administration, sampling, testing, surveying, and documentation for projects.
• Supervises and trains engineers and engineering technicians on construction projects.
• Reviews construction documentation, quantities, diaries, test reports, and other records for accuracy.
• Coordinates with contractors, consultants, utilities, public officials, and DOTD staff to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Reviews schedules, changes, problems, erosion plans, relocations, change orders, and compliance issues.
• Ensures work complies with plans, specs, provisions, policies, and applicable laws.

Education

Louisiana Professional Engineer license

Master's degree in engineering (substitute for 1 year of experience)

Doctorate degree in engineering (substitute for 2 years)
